New York's Tribeca Film Festival will have a distinct Bay Area flair to it. A documentary about the life of Bob Weir will be premiered at the prestigious event.

Jambands reports that 'The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip of Bob Weir' chronicles the life and career of the Grateful Dead guitarist, from his days growing up in San Francisco to his time in the Merry Pranksters. followed by rock stardom with the Dead. It was directed by Alan Hicks.

Weir and his band RatDog will be one of the main attractions at the 2014 Mountain Jam Festival, which is set to take place at Hunter Mountain, N.Y. on June 5-8. The Allman Brothers will headline as part of their farewell tour, and will also feature sets from Gov't Mule, the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Jeff Tweedy of Wilco.
