Best of AC/DC – The UCR Greatest Hits Album
AC/DC just might be the biggest rock band ever who has yet to release a "Greatest Hits" or "Best Of" album. They have allowed some of their most popular songs to be compiled for a pair of movie soundtracks -- 1986's 'Maximum Overdrive' (under the name 'Who Made Who') and last summer's 'Iron Man 2' -- but in general the Australian rockers seem pretty focused on the album format, not even allowing their songs to be sold on iTunes. (Must be nice, being able to say no to earning millions of dollars for doing nothing.)
Assuming Angus Young and his bandmates were to change their mind, assembling a proper single-disc AC/DC Greatest Hits album wouldn't be the easiest task anyway, considering the extremely high number of gigantic radio hits they've created over their nearly four decades together.
There's also the matter of the band having had two different lead singers. We've already demonstrated that one can create a pretty awesome collection featuring just their original frontman with our list of the 10 Best Bon Scott AC/DC songs, but how can you include all of those and still give proper credit to his replacement Brian Johnson's thirty years with the band?
The answer is, you can't, but it was sure fun to try! We ended up with four Bon Scott and six Brian Johnson songs, and it goes without saying there's not a dud in the bunch. We hope you enjoy Ultimate Classic Rock's AC/DC Greatest Hits Album:
