Beatles’ ‘Anthology’ Hitting iTunes for First Time on June 14
All three Beatles 'Anthology' collections will be available for the first time as remastered downloads via iTunes on June 14. In addition, an exclusive 23-track 'Anthology Highlights' compilation will also be available.
The 'Anthology' series was originally released in 1995 and 1996 as three two-disc volumes. Among the tracks included on the comprehensive collections were the never-before-released tunes 'Free As a Bird' and 'Real Love,' a pair of John Lennon demos that were turned into full-fledged Beatles tracks. In addition, the sets feature rare and alternate versions of Beatles songs.
Several download options are being offered by iTunes. Fans can purchase each 'Anthology' volume for $29.99, or buy the complete 155-song 'Anthology Box Set' for $79.99. In addition, a 23-track 'Anthology Highlights' collection is available for $12.99. For the more discriminating Beatles fan, all of the individual 'Anthology' tracks can be purchased for $1.29 each.
The digitally remastered 'Anthology' sets are currently available for pre-order, while the individual tracks can be purchased beginning June 14. In addition, a 'Meet the Beatles' 50-minute radio show currently is streaming for free at www.iTunes.com/TheBeatles.
