Van Halen bassist Wolfgang Van Halen has been busy in the studio with his other gig as a member of Tremonti, and although an official release date or title for the album has yet to be announced, the band has posted samples of five new songs.

The uploads come roughly a week after Tremonti held a listening party for the new record in Orlando -- one of many fringe benefits being offered to hardcore fans through the Fret12 service, which also helped get the word out about the group's recent appearance on this year's ShipRocked cruise festival. Drummer Garrett Whitlock promised a satisfying follow-up for fans of the first Tremonti LP, telling American Forces Network, "I really do think that we kind of figured out what our strengths were, recording the first album, and with this album, we kind of took that and capitalized on all of it."

Van Halen has been beating the social media drum for the Tremonti project, posting photos and status updates from the studio, where the band reportedly tracked 20 songs for the LP. He also appeared in a promotional video for the album that was posted late last year.

You can check out one sample, for the song 'Another Heart,' above, hear clips from two more songs below and listen to a pair of others here and here.
