Cream was one of rock's first supergroups, pulling together guitarist Eric Clapton, bassist Jack Bruce and drummer Ginger Baker. Baker and Bruce had played together in Alexis Korner's Blues Inc. and the Graham Bond Organization; Clapton and Bruce were in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, after the former left the Yardbirds. The group released only a handful of albums before they split up due to tension between Bruce and Baker.
