Bobby Blotzer Says Ratt Fight Isn’t Over
Dismissed Ratt drummer Bobby Blotzer has insisted that his fight with the rest of the band over their name is not over – despite a court ruling that went against him.
And he’s referred to the lineup that won the title as “three bland mice.”
The bitter feud increased pace last November, when singer Stephen Pearcy, guitarist Warren DeMartini and bassist Juan Croucier said they’d been granted the trademark in court. They announced a reunion of “the real Ratt” and distanced themselves from the band led by Blotzer.
The following month, a Blotzer show was abruptly canceled after the other party took action against him using the title. The matter seemed to be close to closure when Pearcy and company performed the first show of their new era this past weekend.
Blotzer has now suggested there’s more to come. “Just a small bit of info regarding the three bland mice show over the weekend and where things stand on the legal side," he wrote on his Ratt Experience Facebook page. "If those lying thieves or anyone not privy to this knows whats going on, it sure as fk ain't over. Can’t give it all but, I can say with a true tongue, this is definitely not over. Very good surprises coming.”
He added that the situation seemed “a lot worse than you think” and demanded to know that if the other party had won their case, “where’s the judgment?”
Referring to his former colleagues’ performance in Welch, Minn., on Feb. 11, Blotzer noted he “saw a video of a couple of songs. Groundhog day. The Crypt Keeper Pearcy and his 15-year-old stage garb. Puking.”
Blotzer's website remains billed as the “Ratt official website” and lists one scheduled performance, in Fort Yates, N.D., on March 18. The previous official site hasn’t been updated since last year, but Pearcy has listed his band’s upcoming tour dates on his own site.
