Will Kanye West's upcoming album feature a cameo appearance by Paul McCartney? If you ask the British press, it's very close to happening.

According to the notorious U.K. tabloid the Sun (via the Daily Mail), an unnamed source reveals that West "has been tapping Macca up for a while about working together," adding that "There's every chance they'll head into the studio together."

Details are apparently being kept secret, but West was spotted backstage at McCartney's Aug. 10 show at Dodger Stadium in L.A. "Kanye and Paul have known each other for a long time but have become more friendly recently," the source continues. The article also states that McCartney had considered bringing in either West or Jay-Z to record a rap on 'Appreciate,' one of the songs from his most recent album, 'New.'

Earlier this week, McCartney performed at San Francisco's Candlestick Park. It was the last event to be held at the former home of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, which also played host to the Beatles' final concert on Aug. 29, 1966.
