Frances Bean Cobain Selling House for $2.7 Million
As part of her divorce settlement, Frances Bean Cobain received the Los Angeles house she shared with Isaiah Silva. Now, she's prepared to part with it. The property has hit the market for $2.7 million.
According to Variety, Cobain paid $1.8 million for the Spanish Colonial at 2015 Curson Ave., located in the Hollywood Hills, in 2011, when she inherited 37 percent of the estate of her late father, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. The 3,357 square-foot home was built in 1930 and designed by Carl Jules Weyl. It's shielded from the street with a high hedge, with access granted via gates.
The listing at the Agency states that the four-bedroom, four-bathroom house has "exquisite period features and detail; stunning period tile, hardware, wrought iron, stained glass, plumbing fixtures and light fixtures." The entrance "flows to a spacious living room, showcasing a central fireplace and stenciled beams," and its kitchen is equipped with "Viking appliances, farmhouse sink and walk-in pantry."
Three of the four bedrooms are located on the second floor, with the two guest bedrooms connected by a Jack and Jill bathroom. The master suite features plenty of closet space, dressing area and a balcony. Outside is a patio with a dining space and room to add a pool (there isn't one there now). The garage, which is detached from the house, has been converted into a recording studio and screening room.
In addition to her career as a visual artist, Cobain has been sharing snippets of her forays into music on social media. The first one arrived in April but was quickly deleted and replaced with a new version of the same song a month later. Last week, she released a third video and said more is on the way.
