It's Wednesday, so that means new comic books, Prince spaghetti day, 'American Idol' and a few bon mots from Steven Tyler. Let's do this thing, yo.

Jimmy Iovine was joined by hook-meister Akon for mentoring duties, and after the two of them steered Skylar in the right direction for her performance, Steven told her, "When you sing a song, it’s a complete sentence. I’m enamored by the women this year. It just goes to prove the crows may crow, but the hens deliver the goods."

We have no idea what that means but Steven probably has it tattooed on himself somewhere so hey, just go with it.

Poor Holly got not one but two "you look beautiful tonight" comments -- one from Steven, one from J. Lo -- which pretty much tells you everything you need to know about her performance.

Jessica tore it up with a little-known song called 'Stuttering,' after which Steven commented, “Every time I hear you sing, I forget where I am.” But since he sometimes forgets where he is when he sings at one of his own shows, and winds up wandering right off the edge of a stage, we're not sure that was terribly high praise.

We've also noticed that lately, Steven seems to want to coach the contestants' love lives as well as their singing -- maybe because he recently got engaged? He encouraged Joshua to get a backup dancer's digits, and after Skylar and Colton did a duet together and shot down rumors of a romance between them, Steven said, "You just made love singing to each other so it don't much matter now anyway." Saucy!

Seven become six on Thursday night. See you then.
