Steely Dan hit a home run at Dodger Stadium as they joined Doobie Brothers and the Eagles Saturday (July 15) at Classic West festival. But they had to do it without a few key members.

Walter Becker, who founded the band with Donald Fagen, did not perform due to an undisclosed illness. In addition, longtime touring guitarist Jon Herington was absent, but was replaced by jazz and session veteran Larry Carlton, who performed the solo on Steely Dan's original recording of "Kid Charlemagne." And as you can see in the pictures above, Fagen was also missing a tooth.

Half of the band's 12-song set stemmed from the last two albums of their classic period, Aja and Gaucho. The rest was filled with seminal hits like "Reelin' in the Years," "Dirty Work" and "My Old School." You can see the set list and watch video of the performances below.

Classic West continues tonight with Journey, Earth, Wind & Fire and Fleetwood Mac, also at Dodger Stadium. All of these bands then play Citi Field in New York two weeks later as the companion festival Classic East is held July 29-30.

The two weekends mark the Eagles' first full-length concerts since Glenn Frey died suddenly in 2016. The lineup for these dates includes Frey's son Deacon and country star Vince Gill.
