In the wake of this week's highly publicized news about Creed singer Scott Stapp's behavior, his wife and mother-in-law have asked the courts to step in to try to help. A new report says that the two women are seeking to have Stapp held for psychiatric observation for 60 days.

According to TMZ, Jaclyn Stapp (pictured with her husband above) and her mother are worried that, without professional help, his attempts to cure his drug problems could potentially harm himself or others.

Stapp claimed in his first video this week that he has been drug-free since April and has been tested weekly to prove it. However, in her divorce papers, Jaclyn said that he recently went on a binge that included crystal meth, amphetamines and steroids, which she alleges has caused him to become paranoid and delusional. She has offered a series of text messages from him as proof.

Two weeks ago, Scott was placed in a psych hold for 72 hours after Madison County, FL, police found him by the side of the road, claiming that he “appeared wasted, incoherent and rambling that someone was trying to poison him.”
