Journey presented an energetic set of favorites at Classic West last night, with one cool twist: Founding guitarist Neal Schon dedicated "Lights" to singer Arnel Pineda's most famous predecessor, Steve Perry.

This highlight moment from Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium followed Pineda emotional meeting with Perry prior to Journey's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction earlier this year. Pineda was photographed bowing before Perry, who led Journey from 1978-98. Perry then seemed to pass the proverbial torch to Pineda during the band's acceptance speeches during the ceremony at New York's Barclays Center. Schon first dedicated "Lights" to Perry that evening.

Watch Journey Perform 'Lights' at Classic West

For their Classic West performance, Journey dug a little deeper into a discography that stretches back to the mid '70s. Their set included "La Do Da," a song written by Perry and Schon for 1978's Infinity, as well as the title track from 1981's Escape. Infinity was Perry's debut album with the band; Escape was the first with keyboardist Jonathan Cain, who remains in the lineup.

Classic West also featured the Eagles' first concert since the death of founding member Glenn Frey; they were joined onstage by Bob Seger. Fleetwood Mac later performed a special tribute to Frey.

Elsewhere, Steely Dan overcame the illness-related absence of founding member Walter Becker, and the Doobie Brothers stormed through a set of their hits.

All six Classic West bands will switch coasts and perform together again at Classic East, which takes place at New York City's Citi Field on July 29 and 30. You can get complete show and ticket information at the Classic East site.
