Gene Simmons -- 'The Demon' of Kiss and the king of rock merchandising -- will be turning 63 on Aug. 25.

Simmons has made music not only his art but his business, selling everything from band-branded comic books to toilet paper and even coffins.

Today, however, the Israel-born rocker is perhaps best known to the younger generation as the star of AMC's 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels,' which follows him and his family throughout their oh-so-hard-luxurious life.

Kiss is currently touring with Motley Crue, and will re-release their classic 'Destroyer' on Aug. 21 along with a brand new album titled 'Monster' on Oct. 16.
