Why should Kiss and Motley Crue's Vince Neil be the only rock stars to own football teams? With the NFL season kicking off this month, we’ve decided to team up with Loudwire to create teams for 16 other great bands -- and let you decide which squad deserves to win the first annual Hard Rock Football League championship.

As you can imagine, we've got quite a contrast in styles with these two teams. The Motorheads have one of the thinnest playbooks in the league, but their relentless, grinding style is sure to leave opponents bruised. Meanwhile, Van Halen's team is captained by one of the most charismatic frontmen in history --  David Lee Roth -- and boasts one of the sport's fastest, highest flying offensive weapons in Edward Van Halen.

So who gets your support — the Eruptions or the Motorheads? You can vote once an hour for your favorite team from now until 8AM ET on Tuesday, Sept. 9, in all four of our first round match-ups. The winner of the Hard Rock Football League will be announced on Sept. 30.
