A preview trailer for the new album paying to the late guitar great Tommy Bolin, entitled 'Great Gypsy Soul,' has just been released. The record features a cast of impressive characters, all of whom were either fans, friends, or both or the late Bolin.

The collection was a labor of love, produced by Greg Hampton and Warren Haynes of the Allman Brothers Band. Thanks to modern technology, features other guitar virtuosos performing alongside Tommy Bolin, using outtakes from his 'Teaser' album.

Peter Frampton, Aerosmith's Brad Whitford, Steve Morse, Warren Haynes, Nels Cline, Steve Lukather, Joe Bonamassa, John Scofield, Derek Trucks, Glenn Hughes all stepped up to take part in this tribute.

While Bolin is not exactly a household name, his influence and guitar prowess has never been in question among fans big and small. Playing in various incarnations of Deep Purple and the James Gang put him in the public eye, but it was his classic solo debut 'Teaser' that cemented his reputation. Sadly, he was not long for this world and died of a drug overdose at age 25 in 1976.

'Great Gypsy Soul' was released on 429 Records this past March, as both a single CD and a double CD with bonus tracks, and now Ear Music have released a nice little video teaser, pardon the pun, that features the new version of 'Teaser' featuring Warren Haynes.

Talking about the project, Haynes said "Many of the guests added after the fact have a close personal connection to Tommy, all share in acknowledging his place in rock history. Watching (and hearing) it all come to fruition some 35 years later was a journey of its own. Well worth the travel."
