For his next trick, Todd Rungren is planning to be ‘unpredictable,’ something that will come as no surprise to longtime fans and in fact, it will probably be exactly what they’ve wanted.

A series of February and March performances at the intimate City Winery in New York are being billed as ‘The Unpredictable Todd Rundgren,’ which as it happens, is truly, truth in advertising. The shows promise a “few favorites” from Todd, but they will be geared mainly towards the Rundgren diehards who love the deep cuts.

The setlist will find Rundgren taking a “deep dive into the eclectic end of his musical pool,” to pull out some of the more obscure songs from his diverse body of work.  Rundgren will perform semi-acoustically for the shows, joined by Kasim Sulton and Jesse Gress.

The shows quickly sold out when they were announced, but there will be a webcast presented by Nevessa on March 12 at 9pm EY. The $19.95 webcast admission will allow on-demand access to the archived video for 30 days after the event.

Todd will also reunite with his old tour mate, former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, playing guitar in Starr’s ‘All Starr Band’ this summer.
