Listening to the music of the Black Keys, you have to figure that Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney had at least one Cream album in their record collection growing up. But they probably never guessed that a member of Cream -- and a number of other rock heroes -- would one day pay tribute to their music.

On his 2009 solo album, 'Preliminaires,' Iggy Pop put aside the guitar-driven, rockin' Stooges side of his musical personality and instead crooned covers and originals in both French and English. Pop once again pursues the French/English language and cover-song angles on his forthcoming follow-up effort, 'Apres' — and the outside material includes tunes made famous by the the Beatles and Yoko Ono.

Seven and 12-inch vinyl copies of new and classic albums from Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Paul Simon and more are amongst the dozens of releases planned for Record Store Day on April 21. Legacy Recordings has just announced a complete lineup of releases for the independent record store holiday, now in it's fifth year.

Iggy Pop has never been much of a shy wallflower, and as an ambassador for Record Store Day 2012, he didn't hold back when talking about today's music -- and the people who perform it.

Iggy and The Stooges ‘Raw Power: Live In The Hands Of Fans’ was filmed by six fans in the audience, with handheld cameras during the 2010 ‘All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival’ in Monticello, N.Y. The six lucky filmmakers were selected through an online fan contest so the video is shot like a bootleg, yet it’s not.

Iggy Pop and the Stooges have rescheduled their west coast concerts after Iggy broke his foot in Romania on Aug. 27. The shows originally scheduled for September have been postponed until later this year.

The Stooges have been forced to postpone an upcoming west coast U.S. tour after Iggy Pop broke two bones in his left foot. The singer sustained the damage while performing Aug. 27 at the Peninsula festival in Romania, and doctors have ordered him to rest up and refrain from hitting the stage for six to eight weeks.
