With the onslaught of rock bands marketing their own brands of libations, Billboard elected to examine several such beverages via a wine tasting panel at New York's City Winery. They sipped, sampled and sounded off about 12 wines from the likes of AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Motorhead, Warrant, Ratt, Whitesnake and more.

Sammy Hagar is back in the booze business. Four years after selling off the majority of his Cabo Wabo Tequila company, the Chickenfoot/former Van Halen singer was at the Hard Rock Honolulu in Hawaii last week to promote his new spirit line, Sammy's Beach Bar Rum.

Foster's may be Australian for "beer," but AC/DC will be Australian for "wine" now that Warburn Estate, a top winery Down Under, has released a collection of vino based on and influenced by the band. The AC/DC libations will be purchasable at Woolworth's, Dan Murphy and BWS.

Carlos Santana is trading guitar licks for salt licks, as he has become a part owner of Casa Noble Tequila. The legendary guitarist says he is a big fan of the the company's product.
