Between laying down tracks in the studio for the new Aerosmith album, camping out at the 'American Idol' judges' table, and singing the National Anthem at last weekend's AFC Championship game, Steven Tyler has been awfully busy lately -- but he still had enough room in his schedule to pay a visit to 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' on Friday (Jan. 20), showing up with Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry (and fellow 'Idol' judge Randy Jackson) for a performance of 'Chip Away the Stone.'

Tyler's string of high-profile performances will continue when he tapes a new episode of 'CMT Crossroads' with Carrie Underwood on February 4. The duo will become the latest rock/country hybrid to perform each others' songs on the long-running show, adding to the tradition established by previous episodes hosted by James Taylor and the Dixie Chicks, Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers, and Sting and Vince Gill, just to name a few.

Watch Tyler, Perry, and Jackson run through 'Chip Away the Stone' in the 'Tonight Show' clip embedded below. What do you think -- better than Tyler's rendition of the National Anthem the other night?
