Slash has completed work on the follow-up to 2012's 'Apocalyptic Love,' and fans will get to hear the results on Sept. 17, when the 17-song album, titled 'World on Fire,' arrives in stores.

That's a long time to wait for your next fix of solo Slash, but to make things a little easier, he's posted the album artwork -- designed by artist Ron English -- and track listing, which includes 'Withered Delilah,' 'Iris of the Storm,' and the title cut.

Slash revealed the album's completion during a red carpet interview at the MusiCares benefit on May 12, saying, "It's finished. I've been sequencing it all week, getting all the songs in the right order, and then I'll master it next week, and it comes out in September ... We recorded it here at NRG to do the basic tracks and then we did all the overdubs and vocals over at Elvis Liberace's studio in Florida."

The "Elvis" Slash referred to is Mike "Elvis" Baskette, who produced the sessions for the new record -- and whose work may be familiar to Slash fans, as his resume includes stints behind the board for Alter Bridge, the band fronted by his singer, Myles Kennedy. Bassist Todd Kerns shared some more information in a post at his site, saying the new collection "goes beyond any expectations I could have had" and adding, "Suffice it to say that it has grown to be a sprawling and diverse journey of an album. I’ve taken to calling it our 'Physical Graffiti' due to its weight, size and diversity...I believe it is the boldest thing we could have done."

Slash plans to follow the release of 'World on Fire' with another round of tour dates following his summer shows with Aerosmith. Asked about the future of Velvet Revolver during his MusiCares interview, he shrugged, "I think we're gonna audition a singer coming up -- that's all you can do. I'm gonna be out on the road for the next year and a half, anyway."
