Here's a complete listen to the complex, anthemic 'Stars,' the latest advance track off Sixx: A.M.'s forthcoming album 'Modern Vintage.' The group released a brief sample to fans earlier this week.

With its futuristic opening riff, 'Stars' sounds at first like music from another dimension -- until the crunchy chorus, which circles back around to this group's historical influences as members of Motley Crue and Guns N' Roses.

That's perfectly in keeping with Sixx: A.M.'s concept for the new project, due in October. "There are moments on the record that literally sound they were written and recorded in, say, the late-'60s, early '70s -- and then there's moments in the record that sound like they were recorded in a time that hasn't even happened yet," singer James Michael said in pre-release material. "So, sonically speaking, it's a real journey -- and I think that the title 'Modern Vintage' really describes that."

Sixx: A.M., which also features Nikki Sixx and DJ Ashba, released the lead single 'Gotta Get It Right' two weeks ago. 'Modern Vintage' is available to pre-order via Amazon now.
