Chrissie Hynde is celebrating her 65th birthday today, and she's got a gift for fans. She's announced the first Pretenders album since 2008's Break Up the Concrete. Alone will be released on Oct. 21.

The album, the band's 10th, was recorded with the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach at his Nashville studio. In a press release announcing the album, Hynde says the record was made by "real people playing real instruments."

The news was also announced on the Pretenders' Facebook page, which also includes pre-order information.

The new record, which was hinted at last year, marks the first activity by the Pretenders in almost a decade. But Hynde has stayed busy during the period, releasing her first solo record, Stockholm, in 2014, and publishing an autobiography, Reckless: My Life as a Pretender, last year. She also collaborated with singer-songwriter JP Jones as JP, Chrissie & the Fairground Boys on 2010's Fidelity album.

Earlier this week, the Pretenders also announced a new tour with Stevie Nicks, which will kick off in Phoenix four days after the album's release. You can see the list of tour dates below.

The album was originally supposed to be the follow-up to Stockholm, but as the sessions progressed, it turned into a new Pretenders record. Alone is preceded by the album's first single, "Holy Commotion," a playfully poppy track that recalls the Black Keys at their most radio friendly. Auerbach, who hails from the same hometown of Akron, Ohio, as Hynde, helped spur her into action.

“We were in the studio hanging out,” she says. “And the guys were talking about their families and their wives and I said, ‘Well, I do everything alone. I go to the cinema alone. I go to restaurants alone. I live alone. I pretty much do everything on my own. I don’t mind.’ Dan says, ‘Write a song about it.’ “The more I thought about it, I thought, I’ve heard 1,000 songs in my life, they’re all about, I am so tired of being alone. I can’t live without you. Since you’ve left my world has fallen apart. When am I going to see you again? Marry me and be with me for the rest of my life. I have never heard anyone celebrate being alone in a song. I couldn’t think of one.”
