The concert film ‘Secret World Live,’ filmed back in 1993, has long been one of Peter Gabriel‘s most popular releases, and it’s getting a format update for the DVD and Blu-Ray era. The set, filmed in Modena, Italy, won the singer a Grammy Award.

The concert movie was shot in the midst of the singer’s support of the ‘Us’ album, and featured such hits as ‘Digging in the Dirt,’ ‘Steam,’ and ‘Come Talk to Me’ from the disc. There are also plenty of other favorites, including ‘Sledgehammer,’ ‘Don’t Give Up,’ ‘Solsbury Hill,’ and the powerful set closer ‘In Your Eyes.’

For the DVD and Blu-Ray update, the entire show has been fully restored and remastered. It comes with a number of bonus features, including the addition of ‘Red Rain,’ which was left off the original release, and a time lapse film of the complex stage setup. There’s also a featurette on the making of the ‘Secret World Live’ film, including new interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. The package also includes a newly restored photo montage slideshow backed by the remixed “Quiet” version of ‘Steam.’ The updated ‘Secret World Live’ also has a tie to the present as it includes an orchestral rendition of ‘The Rhythm of the Heat’ from Gabriel’s most recent concert video, ‘New Blood: Live in London.’

The DVD and Blu-Ray editions of ‘Secret World Live’ will be offered by Eagle Rock Entertainment on July 24.

In other Peter Gabriel news, the singer will kick off his ‘Back to Front‘ tour June 25 celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the ‘So’ album. The North American portion of the run doesn’t start until September however.
