Peter Gabriel To Celebrate 25th Anniversary of ‘So’ With 2012 Tour
Technically, he's a little late, but Peter Gabriel's fans probably don't mind at all. On June 29, Gabriel will launch his 'Back to Front' tour, marking the belated 25th anniversary of his superstar-making fifth solo album, 1986's 'So.'
So far, the 'So' silver anniversary tour consists of 14 concerts, mostly in September and October and with at least half of them in major U.S. markets such as Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Chicago. On his Web site, Gabriel says the 'Back to Front' tour will focus on the nine 'So' songs "from start to finish," plus include other material from his catalog. (Maybe some prime Genesis material?) He'll be joined by many of the same musicians who toured with him back in the day in support of 'So,' which spawned the hits 'Sledgehammer,' 'In Your Eyes,' 'Big Time,' 'Red Rain' and 'Don't Give Up.'
Tickets are scheduled to go on sale May 26.
