A British newspaper is reporting that Sir Paul McCartney's previously announced third marriage ceremony, to American businesswoman Nancy Shevell, will happen soon and remain a relatively low-key event.

The Daily Telegraph reports that McCartney's impending wedding will be a much quieter affair than the exchanging of vows between the former Beatle and second wife Heather Mills. That marriage produced a daughter, but ended six years later in a very messy, not to mention expensive, divorce. Perhaps as a result, Macca is set to marry Shevell in a quiet ceremony in London to be attended by close family members.

After the nuptials, the couple is said to have plans to fly to New York to extend their celebration and share it with Shevell's family and friends. So, it'll still be quite the intercontinental event.

McCartney, who lost first wife Linda to cancer in 1998, proposed to Shevell in May, sliding a vintage diamond Cartier on her lucky finger. They had been dating since 2007.

A friend of McCartney's told the paper that "Paul loves Nancy very much, but does not want a big wedding." We can't blame him for wanting to keep things intimate, low key, small scale and special, especially after the somewhat embarrassing shenanigans that Mills pulled.

That said, congrats once again to McCartney and Shevell on their engagement and imminent nuptials.
