Metallica are teasing the upcoming release of their expanded and remastered Kill ‘Em All with a live performance of “Seek & Destroy” from the archives.

“This was recorded at the first gig that we played after having our gear ripped off in January of ’83,” wrote the band of the recording, which you can listen to below. “Anthrax was cool enough to lend us their equipment for the night. Recorded live at J Bees Rock III, Middletown, N.Y., on January 20, 1984, by Calvin Coohey.”

Due April 15 and available for pre-order, the deluxe Kill ‘Em All arrives alongside a similarly revisited version of the band’s classic Ride the Lightning LP, which is also available for pre-order. As previously reported, the members of Metallica solicited help from fans when assembling the boxes, which they’ve promised are “just the beginning” of a comprehensive journey through their back catalog. Each release includes multiple discs’ worth of bonus material, much of it previously unreleased.

Also due out in April is a new live album, Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité, Metallica! – Live at Le Bataclan, Paris, France – June 11th, 2003, that’s being issued as part of this year’s Record Store Day festivities on April 16. All proceeds from the LP are being donated to victims of last year’s Paris terrorist attacks.

In other Metallica news, the band’s 1997 single “Fuel” is part of a new commercial campaign for the Dodge Predator line. The ad, which you can watch above, uses the song as the soundtrack for a clip celebrating the Predator’s “impressive combination of power, technology, capability and efficiency.”
