You can't achieve the level of consistent success Metallica has enjoyed over the last few decades without developing a pretty thick skin in the process, but that doesn't mean the guys in the band are above taking a few shots at their critics once in awhile. For proof, look no further than their recently posted short film, 'Glastallica.'

It's been sort of a bumpy couple of months for the group, with the U.K. media ginning up controversy over their headliner status at this year's Glastonbury Festival and angry activists calling for a boycott due to James Hetfield's participation in a new television series about the hunting of Alaskan bears.

The band members have mostly shrugged it off in public, but that doesn't mean they haven't noticed. They released a special commemorative Glastonbury shirt emblazoned with negative quotes about the idea of their appearance at the festival, and commissioned director Julien Temple to helm 'Glastallica,' a short, tongue-in-cheek film that acted as their introduction.

The clip begins with a few moments from the classic Clint Eastwood western 'The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly' before segueing into footage of an old-fashioned U.K. fox hunt -- but this is no ordinary afternoon of gentlemanly sport in the British countryside. We won't spoil the ending for you, but it involves blood and bear costumes, and filming it was clearly a good time for the guys in the band. Once you've checked that out, you can watch Metallica's complete Glastonbury set right here.
