Jefferson Starship is planning to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their legendary predecessors in Jefferson Airplane during tour stops in 2015. Paul Kantner and David Freiberg, stalwarts of the current lineup, have served as members for both bands.

The modern-day Jefferson Starship has long blended in songs from the Airplane era, including 'Wooden Ships,' 'Somebody To Love' and 'White Rabbit' and 'Volunteers.' Cathy Richardson handles the now-retired Grace Slick's parts in concert.

Already, Jefferson Starship has confirmed more than two dozen North American shows for next year; UK concerts are planned in late January and early February. A complete list of dates and cities is below.

Kantner founded Jefferson Airplane in 1965 with Marty Balin; Slick joined a year later, followed by Freiberg in 1972. The band morphed into Jefferson Starship in 1974, adding Craig Chaquico. By 1985, Kantner and Freiberg left a group that now included Mickey Thomas, Slick and Chaquico, which went forward into 1990 simply as Starship. Kantner then relaunched Jefferson Starship in 1992, reuniting with both Frieberg and '80s-era drummer Donny Baldwin in 2005.
