Chickenfoot Share Sample Clips from Every Song on New Album

Chickenfoot have released 90-second audio clips of all 10 songs from their forthcoming second album, 'Chickenfoot III,’ which drops Sept. 27. “Can't wait for you to hear this!” singer Sammy Hagar writes of the leak in a post on his Twitter feed. “Listen to the clips and tweet which song you think will smoke the most live!"

The samples, which you can find on iTunes, find Chickenfoot pretty much picking up where they left off with their self-titled 2009 debut album (yes, ‘III’ amazingly is the supergroup's second album): Hagar-fueled party jams, Joe Satriani-led prog-rock scorchers and slow-burning ballads. Track titles include 'Different Devil,' 'Come Closer,' 'Something Gone Wrong' and 'Big Foot,' the recently released first single from the album (check out our four-and-a-half star review of the tune here).

The supergroup -- which features former Van Halen members Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, guitar virtuoso Satriani and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith -- plan to tour behind ‘III,” although Smith recently turned over drumming duties temporarily to Kenny Aronoff while he hits the road with his “day job.” Chickenfoot already have a brief five-city jaunt with Aronoff lined up for November.

The band also is planning a Sept. 27 webcast of a live performance to celebrate the release of ‘III,' although no further details are available at this time. Check back with Ultimate Classic Rock for more information about the webcast when it becomes available.
