Alex Lifeson of Rush turns 59 on Aug. 27. The guitarist cofounded the legendary Canadian trio in 1968.

The group recently released a new studio album, 'Clockwork Angels,' and will soon be embarking on a concert tour complete with a string ensemble.

Aside from music, Lifeson's career has taken him to both television and the silver screen. He appeared in the mockumentary 'Trailer Park Boys' and the independent Canadian film entitled 'Suck.'

We celebrated his birthday last year with a look at the Rush songs that best featured his guitar playing, and we think it's still worth a look!
