The Curious Case of Steven Tyler's Shower Fall is not yet over. This morning (Oct. 27), the Aerosmith singer appeared on the 'Today' show to speak with Matt Lauer about his accident in a hotel in Paraguay, which left Tyler with a bloody mouth and missing teeth. A statement from the band blamed the incident on a bout with food poisoning, and Tyler stuck to that story.

"Quite frankly, I passed out," he explained on the phone from Argentina (after mischievously greeting the 'Today' host by saying 'Good Morning America!'), where the band is performing Friday. "I was in the shower and I started to get sick and I fell on my face. I woke up with the water running on me wondering where the hell I was."

"And the next thing you know my tour manager was calling the American Embassy and finding the best hospital," he continued. "It was like one-stop shopping. They stitched up my eye they did a little plastic surgery and they fixed my tooth all in one fell swoop."

As for those whispers that the fall was in fact somehow drug related, Tyler understands the suspicion, given his history -- but maintains he is very much still on the wagon. "Being in the program that I'm in, it's something we have to expect," he said. "I went public with my problems only to address them head on. You know, people thinking that is natural and normal."

Lauer then asked Tyler point blank if substance abuse was involved. "No, it's not the issue," he insisted.

Tyler also shared the above pic from right after his fall before he was treated (doesn't look "Minor" to us),, and then signed with his best Jack Nicholson impression: "You can't handle the tooth!"
