Some of classic rock's biggest names got very busy in 2016, making this year's Ultimate Classic Rock Awards race for Artist of the Year very interesting. Luckily, it's you and not us who will decide the winner.

In the gallery above, we've laid out the cases for Axl Rose, David Bowie, the Rolling Stones, Metallica, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon. All but two of those eight legends released highly regarded new studio albums this year. Those that didn't were busy selling out stadiums around the world, writing acclaimed autobiographies, or delivering the most hoped-for reunion tour of the last 20 years, and even coming to the rescue of yet another of the year's biggest tours.

So, yeah, you have a tough decision to make. If you’re torn between two or more candidates — or just want to be sure you do everything you can to make sure your favorite artist wins — you can keep coming back every hour to cast your ballot over and over. (In fact, our ad team would love that.)

Voting for each of the 2016 Ultimate Classic Rock Awards categories ends on Jan. 9, 2017, at 11:59PM ET. As always, the winner will be decided solely by reader’s votes, so vote early and often — and may the best artist win!
