That's right, this tattoo sleeve belongs to none other than Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx, who obviously has turned getting tattoos from a casual hobby into a lifestyle commitment -- and a pretty expensive one at that. All members of the Crue obviously have tons tattoos, but we'd guess that Sixx would give Tommy Lee a run for his money in a competition to see who has the most.
So, what are all these colorful tatts on Sixx's sleeve? To be honest, beyond the "1958" we're not exactly up to date on the meanings behind any of them. We'' go out on a limb and say that the "Frankie" is most likely a reference to his birth name -- Frank Carlton Serafino Feranna, Jr. -- but beyond that, your guess is as good as ours. The staff notation seems to go well with his chosen profession -- as do the skulls and fire, in a totally different but no less significant way (rock stars do seem to have a thing for skulls and fire, don't they?)
For an extensive tour of the rest of Nikki's sleeve and a good deal more of his body art, check out his CelebrityTattooDesign.com page -- it even shows off his rad tatt of bandmate Mick Mars designed by none other than his former flame Kat Von D, the tattoo artist, model and former star of the TLC reality TV show, 'LA Ink.' If nothing else, that's definitely one way to get a good deal on tattoos -- date a tattoo artist. And if you're going to do that, you may as well date the best.
