We're pretty sure that being born in England makes him ineligible, but former Mott the Hoople frontman Ian Hunter throws his hat into our election ring anyway with the Sept. 4 release of 'When I'm President.'

Last November we reported that Ian Hunter, frontman for Mott the Hoople, would be entering the recording studio at the start of 2012. The fruits of his labor have resulted in a new album, 'When I'm President,' which will be released on Sept. 4.

New York's Carnegie Hall may seem like a strange place for a tribute to those scrappy hoodlums known as the Rolling Stones, but the prestigious venue will get its rocks off on March 13 with 'The Music of the Rolling Stones.' Classic artists like Jackson Browne, Ian Hunter & The Rant Band and Art Garfunkel will join 18 other acts to perform all 21 songs on the Stones' compilation, 'Hot Rocks: 1

Ian Hunter is heading back to the studio at the start of next year to begin recording his next album which he promises will be different than this last couple of releases, telling Billboard that Jan. 9 is the targeted start date.

Ian Hunter sold out the Beachland Ballroom on Friday, Oct. 28, kicking off the Halloween weekend with a spirit that's earned the town its anthem 'Cleveland Rocks.'

Mott The Hoople finally get their due on Nov. 15, when Start Productions releases ‘The Ballad Of Mott The Hoople' on DVD. The 101-minute documentary covers the rise, the fall and the resurrection of one of rock’s most passionate, longhaired, platform-booted rock bands.
