Known as "The Man With the Golden Ear," TV producer and music publisher Don Kirshner helped popularize the pre-fab group the Monkees and hosted the long-running music variety show 'Don Kirshner's Rock Concert.' He died of heart failure in a Boca Raton, Florida hospital on Jan. 17, at age 76 -- and months later was elected into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where he will be honored with the Amhet Ertegun Award for non-performers.
