Even though they were from the San Francisco Bay area, Creedence Clearwater Revival successfully portrayed themselves as natives of the deep south. That probably helps explain why their music is infused with so much soul and genuine swamp boogie.

John Fogerty and band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. Creedence Clearwater Revival, who gave us timeless classics like 'Bad Moon Rising,' 'Fortunate Son' and 'Proud Mary,' were one of the most American-sounding bands of the late '60s and early '70s. They still sound like the red, white and blue whenever they grace our radios with their presence.
