"To get to record and to do things with the legends, and with the people that are your musical heroes, that's the biggest honor as an artist."

So says an excited Zac Brown in the above video, offering a peek behind the scenes of the Doobie Brothers' upcoming 'Southbound' album, which put the band alongside some of country music's biggest stars for re-recordings of classic songs from their catalog. As previously reported, Brown collaborated with the Doobies on a new version of 1974's 'Black Water,' and you can hear a few bits and pieces of the results between interview clips.

"The Doobie Brothers are one of my favorites of all time," added Brown. "Doing 'Black Water' with them is really, really cool ... It's a big honor to get to record one of their songs with them and to play along on their tracks. I hope everybody enjoys our input on 'Black Water' -- it sure was a lot of fun getting to record it."

'Southbound,' which also features appearances from Blake Shelton, Toby Keith, Vince Gill, Sara Evans and many others, is scheduled to arrive in stores on Nov. 4, but it's already available for pre-order -- and those who purchase now will be treated to an instant digital download of the new 'Black Water.'
