Few people know their way around a guitar like Journey's Neal Schon. But he's not just an artist of the fretboard and strings -- he'll personally detail a guitar for one lucky reader of Ultimate Classic Rock.

Schon will take a Paul Reed Smith SE Singlecut guitar and, with his own hand, design the top of the instrument. To prove that he's doing the work, we have video below of Schon playing, then customizing the axe for a similar contest for MSN below, and you can see the winner with his guitar here.

Neal Schon's most recent solo instrumental album, 'The Calling,' was released on Oct. 22. In our exclusive interview with Schon, he said he took pride in the fact that it "touched on a lot of different areas that I love about the music that I listen to and that I’ve played and correlated with throughout the years. I like the fact that it’s rockin’. It has sections that are rockin’ and very electric and then there’s sections that are really deep and bluesy. But I love the fact that there’s a lot of melody as well, for being an instrumental record"
