The period of Whitesnake's history where they just starting to break out will be captured in a new DVD. On Nov. 11, they will release 'Live in '84 - Back to the Bone,' a compilation from the tour in support of that year's 'Slide It In.' The trailer can be found above.

Brave Words reports that lead singer David Coverdale worked with producer Michael McIntyre to track down quality footage from that tour. This included their set at the the Super Rock festival in Tokyo and a date in Sweden that turned out to be Jon Lord's last gig as a member of Whitesnake. Four songs from that show are included as bonus tracks.

Coverdale noted the historical significance of this lineup of Whitesnake, as several of its members have since passed away. “It’s still hard for me to find the words when remembering that half the incredible band who originally recorded the ‘Slide It In’ album with me have passed away,” he said. “It’s incredibly difficult to articulate: Cozy Powell...Mel Galley...Jon Lord...All amazing people and amazing musicians. Their memories live on in our hearts and in the music they made. I miss them beyond words...Wait until you see and hear them playing as only they can and add in the fiery guitar assault of the incredibly gifted John Sykes, plus the relentless melodic bass pounding of Neil Murray.”

'Live in '84 - Back to the Bone' will be released in both a DVD and a CD/DVD combo Deluxe Edition.
