This summer Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes is teaming with distinguished symphonies like the Boston Pops and the San Francisco Symphony to bring the music of Jerry Garcia to fans in an entirely new way. The collaborators will approach the late singer's original compositions and Grateful Dead hits at nine different halls and amphitheaters across the country.

Haynes is certainly no stranger to Garcia and the Dead music. He toured with the Dead, playing guitar when Bob Weir, Phil Lesh and company toured in the late-'00s. He's been playing shows with the remaining members since Garcia died in 1995. Garcia's family is curating the experience, which begins on June 18 in Pittsburgh, Pa.

A full list of shows is below, and ticket information is available at JerryGarcia.com. Notable dates on the itinerary include the July 30 show at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, and the Aug. 1 date -- which would have been Garcia's 71st birthday -- in his hometown of San Francisco. Haynes' show at the Davies Symphony Hall that day and on Aug. 2 is sure to be special.

The June 20 show in Raleigh is not yet on Garcia's website, but was confirmed in a press release.
