Vince Neil, Dave Mustaine Lead Black Sabbath Tribute Album

Over the past 20 years, tribute albums have become so common that it’s nearly impossible to find a new way to honor an act. However, the ‘The Many Faces of Black Sabbath,’ which will be released in the U.K. on Nov. 3, takes a unique approach.

As Brave Words notes, the set spreads out 42 songs over three CDs, with each disc having a separate theme. The first, ‘The Players (and More),’ features mostly projects that have involved past and present members of Black Sabbath. This includes Dave Mustaine‘s cover of Alice Cooper‘s ‘School’s Out,’ which had Eric Singer and Bob Daisley. The disc is filled out with a few version of Sabbath songs, such as Vince Neil‘s take on ‘Paranoid.’

The second disc is comprised of metal bands from around the world, including Germany and Argentina, paying tribute to Black Sabbath. Three songs from Ozzy Osbourne‘s solo career, ‘Mr. Crowley,’ ‘Crazy Train’ and ‘Bark at the Moon,’ also appear. ‘The Legacy,’ which closes out the box, brings together many of today’s best-known “stoner rock’ groups, showing the influence that Black Sabbath have had throughout their career.
