The Velvet Underground's Loaded is turning 45 in style.

On Oct. 30, the album returns to stores as Loaded: Re-Loaded 45th Anniversary Edition, a deluxe six-disc box that collects stereo and mono versions of the original LP along with an array of bonus material that includes demos, early versions and alternate mixes, a newly remastered and re-edited version of the 1970 show originally captured on 1972's Live at Max's Kansas City album, a previously unreleased May 1970 concert recorded in Philadelphia and two Loaded high-resolution mixes, plus a surround sound mix in DTS and Dolby Digital.

According to the Re-Loaded press release, the May 1970 show was recorded on May 9, 1970, at the Second Fret in Philadelphia, captured by Bob Kachnycz, described as "a fan who hitchhiked to the show and recorded it on reel-to-reel." The announcement adds that the Velvet Underground were "down to a trio that night: Lou Reed, Sterling Morrison and Doug Yule, who alternated between bass and drums to fill in for Moe Tucker, who was pregnant at the time. Loaded, which came out six months after the show, is well represented with seven songs, including: 'Cool It Down,' 'Oh! Sweet Nuthin'' and 'Sweet Jane.'

Re-Loaded, which is available for pre-order now, is the latest in a series of deluxe VU reissues, including the remastered and expanded version of White Light / White Heat issued in 2013 and the 45th anniversary edition of The Velvet Underground that arrived last year.
