Van Halen vs. Motley Crue – Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame Semifinals

They had no problem getting here, breezing to round-one triumphs. But how will Van Halen — who swept by the Police 79 to 21 percent — fare against the much-steeper competition of Motley Crue? After all, they were winners by a similarly dominant margin of 78 to 22 percent over Molly Hatchet.

You decide, as balloting continues for the 100 percent fan-decided induction into the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame.

Both bands have seen a resurgence lately, as Van Halen reunited with original frontman David Lee Roth for a well-received 2012 album and tour, while Motley Crue have released new music even as they continue a series of final concert dates. There’s talk of another studio effort from Roth and Van Halen, not to mention a slew of solo Crue-related projects on the way as well.

But, first, who will move on to the finals? That’s where you come in. You can vote once an hour until the polls close on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 11:59PM EST. This month’s inductee will be announced on Sept. 2. Be sure to read our official rules.
