British hard rock vets UFO have announced a fall tour in support of their current SPV/Steamhammer retrospective ‘Best of a Decade.’ The trek will begin Sept. 15 in Santa Rosa, Calif., and will wrap up Oct. 8 in San Antonio, Texas. Support on all tour dates will come from the Brazilian-based band Mindflow.

An official press release reveals that UFO is currently working on a new studio album that is slated for release in 2012. The current lineup of UFO features original members Phil Mogg (vocals), Andy Parker (drums) and Paul Raymond (keyboards, guitars) with guitar whiz Vinnie Moore, who has been the band’s guitarist since the 2004 departure of Michael Schenker. Bassist Barry Sparks fills out the present lineup of the group.

In a blog post, Raymond says that the new CD will feature “an abundance of good material” already written by Mogg, and the new album will be the band’s first with Sparks on bass.
