The Real Reason U2’s Bono Wears Sunglasses Indoors

U2‘s Bono hasn’t been wearing sunglasses for the last two decades to look cool. Instead, he’s battling a light sensitivity caused by glaucoma.

“I have good treatments and I am going to be fine,” he tells the BBC’s Graham Norton (via The Guardian), noting he’s not looking for sympathy. “You’re not going to get this out of your head now,” Bono quipped, “and you will be saying, ‘Ah, poor old blind Bono.’”

Bono also addressed complaints about placing U2’s latest album ‘Songs of Innocence‘ directly into users’ iTunes accounts. “We wanted to do something fresh but it seems some people don’t believe in Father Christmas,” he said. “All those people who were uninterested in U2 are now mad at U2. As far as we are concerned, it’s an improvement.”

‘Songs of Innocence’ was released commercially this week. Bono has already previously apologized for giving the album away.
