Hollywood's Avalon Theater will be the venue for the 2nd annual Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund Awards Gala. The event will take place on October 31, 2012, and will be hosted by Eddie Trunk.

Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, who is undergoing his own courageous struggle with lymphoma, will receive the King of Rock n' Roll Award. Five other awards will be presented to various music industry bigwigs.

The Dio Disciples, an all-star group comprised of former members of Dio, with Tim 'Ripper' Owens (ex-Judas Priest) and Toby Jepsen (Little Angels) on vocals, are booked to perform. Other musical acts have yet to be announced. Cirque Berzerk, which calls itself a "phantasmagoric spectacle," will also provide entertainment.

The gala will feature a full hosted bar and various food stations. And given that it is taking place on Halloween, there will also be a costume contest. Ticket packages range from $200 to $12,000. Visit the Dio Fund's website for more information.

The Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund was established in 2010 following the death of the singer. Their mission is to "support cancer prevention research, raise awareness and educate the public with the focus that early detection and prevention is of vital importance."
