As if a round of tour dates with Mötley Crüe weren't enough to keep Tommy Lee busy during the band's visit to Australia, he's also promoting a new single recorded with one of the country's biggest DJs.

Lee teamed up with EDM star Nick Thayer for the new release, titled "Fly S---," which is due out May 19 but available for pre-order now. As Thayer told Australian publication The Music, the duo's collaboration started with an out-of-the-blue overture from Lee.

Recalling that he was talking on the phone with his wife when he heard from Lee, Thayer says, "I’m like, ‘I just got an email from Tommy Lee!’ He said, ‘I very much like your music – I’m playing it in my DJ sets.’ I thought, ‘That’s awesome.’ So I replied back and I said, ‘I very much also like your music.’"

The two have recorded together repeatedly in recent years, but Lee's presence in Australia for this leg of the Crüe's final tour makes the release of "Fly S---" special. As Thayer tells The Music, "We’re releasing it right when Mötley Crüe are touring Australia and capitalizing on all of that, if we can."

Lee, for his part, is typically effusive in his excitement for the new track, peppering his Twitter and Facebook feeds with calls to "f---ing fly, baby!" You can pre-order "Fly S---" now; meanwhile, Mötley Crüe are scheduled to return to the U.S. in July for one last lengthy run of dates that will conclude with what's being billed as the group's last-ever gig on Dec. 31.
