The details of the much talked about Beach Boys 50th anniversary tour are coming to light, with the first batch of dates being announced. This is the first major Beach Boys tour to include all surviving original members in a long long time. The flames of anticipation were fanned with the band's appearance on last week's Grammy Awards show.

The tour will take the band across the states, then eventually to Europe, and will include stops at such high profile festivals as Bonnaroo, Summerfest and The New Orleans Jazz Fest. Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, and David Marks will be joined by a cast of musicians, including several members of Brian Wilson's long-running touring band, to flesh out the big sound of the Beach Boys' multi-faceted recordings in the live setting.

In other Beach Boys news, there is also once again talk of a brand new studio album, produced by Brian Wilson, that, if the rumors are true, is already finished. In addition,Capitol Records has plans for a new retrospective box set (we wonder what, if anything, this will include that hasn't been available before!) and yet another greatest hits type disc to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the rock and roll legends.
