Tesla have released a raucous promo clip for "Save That Goodness," their new in-studio collaboration with Def Leppard's Phil Collen.

“Our new video for ‘Save That Goodness’ captures the essence of the song," guitarist Frank Hannon told Bravewords. "It's a feel-good message with a hint of spirituality. ... The location glues it all together in a turn of the century classic chapel that conveys an old time feeling of gospel, while the band has fun playing new rock 'n' roll and blending the two."

Written by produced by Collen, "Save That Goodness" is a bonus track on a new song-for-song live reinterpretation of Tesla's platinum-selling 1986 debut, Mechanical Resonance. "It was a lot of fun to revisit some of the songs we hadn't played in decades," fellow co-founding bassist Brian Wheat added. "And [Telsa] had a great time recording it."

Telsa, who are also joined by singer Debbi Blackwell in the video, began a well-received tour with Def Leppard earlier this summer. Mechanical Resonance Live is out tomorrow; fans you pre-order on iTunes receive "Save That Goodness" as an instant download.

“Thirty years later and the songs on our first album still rock," Hannon said. "Making this new live album of Mechanical Resonance was a reminder of the innocence and creative beginnings of Tesla."

Tesla are rounded out by singer Jeff Keith, drummer Troy Luccketta and guitarist Dave Rude, all of whom joined in 1984 – just before the Sacramento-based band took off with Mechanical Resonance. Their next two albums went platinum too. Collen will also produce Tesla's upcoming studio album.
