Tesla Singer Jeff Keith Recovering From Hip Replacement Surgery

Tesla's been off the road temporarily while singer Jeff Keith is on the mend after undergoing hip replacement surgery, but they'll be back on stage in time for the band's summer tour with Def Leppard and Styx.

An update on Keith's condition was posted over the weekend at Tesla's official website, promising he's "ready to rock!!" and letting fans know that he's "made a full recovery from his hip replacement surgery" and is "enjoying some much needed rest and relaxation at this time."

Noting that their most recent run of dates were "cut short due to pain resulting from arthritis in JK's hip" because "the band had to make a quick decision to get him into surgery in order to be ready" for the summer shows, the post says Tesla will get back to business next week, resuming rehearsals for their appearance on the Monsters of Rock cruise, which is scheduled to sail between April 18-22.

"Tesla will be performing two separate shows on the Monsters of Rock cruise," reads the post, "the first of which will contain the majority of songs from the band's latest album, Simplicity. Lead guitarist Frank Hannon will also be performing two separate shows as well with his Frank Hannon Band on the Monsters of Rock cruise playing songs from his latest album, World Peace.

As previously reported, the Def Leppard/Styx/Tesla tour will occupy all three bands throughout the summer and into the fall, starting with a June 23 date in Tampa and continuing until early October. Tickets are on sale now.
